SRVM PARTNERED WITH ITS STAKEHOLDERED TO HOST THE 3rd ANNUAL CAREER EXPO

The Sundays River Valley Municipality partnered with government and private institutions to host its 3rd Annual Career Expo.
On April 24, over 300 grade 12 learners from five high schools in the Sundays River Valley Municipal area were empowered with information about career and funding opportunities to consider when they apply to various institutions of higher learning for the year 2025.
The expo was hosted in partnership with public and private institutions which include the SRCC Foundation, SAN Parks (Addo Elephant National Park), the Sundays River Collaborative, and the Department Public Works and Infrastructure.
The consistent success of this annual event is attributed to the local Intergovernmental Relations Forum, where the municipality has managed to maintain effective partnerships with all the relevant community stakeholders for the betterment of the communities.
More stakeholders who contributed to the successful planning of this event are the Uitenhage and District Taxi Association, Border Taxi Association, Sundays River Valley Citrus Producers Forum, Kirkwood Hoerskool, the Sarah Baartman District Municipality, Blunden Coach Tours, First National Bank together with Career Exhibitions and Information Association.
The organisers of the event are looking to host a similar event for the grade 9 learners to assist them in choosing relevant subjects at grade 10 which align with careers they are interested in.
Speaking on behalf of the municipality, the organiser of the event Mrs. Zusiphe Jaji said she’s pleased about the yearly growth of the expo and appreciated all the support they have received.
The expo has grown massively since its first year, I am so honored to be at the forefront of youth development in this area,” she said.
“I am grateful for all the support we have received from different stakeholders while we were planning the expo and I hope more will be joining us next year,” she added.
Various institutions of higher learning, TVET Colleges, Colleges of Agriculture, government departments, state owned entities, banks, private companies etc  exhibited on the day.
